The skeptic's confusion:

Jesus sent the Holy Ghost.

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you ...." John 15:26

Jesus' father sent the Holy Ghost.

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send ...." John 14:26

Explanation:

Of course, the skeptic forgot to provide the rest of the verses:

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)

“But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me” (John 15:26)

The Holy Ghost was sent by the Father in the name of Jesus the Son. That means that They both sent it, as They are both intimately connected to the Spirit in the triune Godhead. As Jesus said:

“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.” (John 17:22-23)

"And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days... Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD." Genesis 49: 1, 16-18
