Explanation:
God loves the whole world, yet He hates sin. When a person continues a long time in a wicked path, God comes to hate that
person as well. The wrath against mankind is built upon this anger, or hatred, on sin and sinners.
So God is capable of both loving and hating. However, His love vastly outweighs His other emotions. That is why He sent
His son, Jesus: to give us vile, despicable, evil humans a chance to be reconciled, so that God will turn away His wrath.
If any person, described in the above verses as being hated, would turn from their wicked deeds to God in repentance, His
hatred would dissipate and he/she would be brought into a loving communion with Him. Just because God hates a person in a
certain way, it does not mean that He doesn’t also love them enough to try to bring them away from their destructive
paths.
God is a complex being; we should expect His emotions to be complex as well. Notwithstanding, if a person in a lifetime will
not turn to Jesus as Savior, to erase the debt of sin, God will not turn turn away His wrath and hatred; it will stay with
him/her for eternity.
