The skeptic's confusion:

God never gets furious.

"Fury is not in me: who would set the briers and thorns against me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together." Isaiah 27:4

God is often (always?) furious.

"For the indignation of the Lord is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies." Isaiah 34:2

"And I myself will fight against you with an outstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath." Jeremiah 21:5

"Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury." Jeremiah 30:23

"And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury upon the heathen, such as they have not heard." Micah 5:15

"God is jealous, and the Lord revengeth; the Lord revengeth, and is furious." Nahum 1:2

"Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury." Zechariah 8:2

Explanation:

Isaiah does not say or imply that God never gets furious; He is just not furious on this occasion. The commentator Matthew Henry gives us greater insight on Isaiah 27:

“Though sometimes He contends with His people, yet, upon their submission, He[God] will be reconciled to them. Fury is not in Him toward His vineyard. It is true, if He find in it briers and thorns instead of vines, He will tread them down and burn them; but otherwise, ‘If I am angry with my My people, let them humble themselves and pray, and seek My face, and so take hold of My strength with a sincere desire to make their peace with Me, and I will be reconciled to them, and all shall be well.’”

"And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days... Dan shall judge his people, as one of the tribes of Israel. Dan shall be a serpent by the way, an adder in the path, that biteth the horse heels, so that his rider shall fall backward. I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD." Genesis 49: 1, 16-18
